The Songs
Enough chit chat already, cut to the chase why don't you...
Very well then, if you insist...
You can hear clips from pretty much everything Mr. Jones has ever recorded by clicking on the 'hear' links below. Anything less than a minute or so long is available in full, so no need to pay for those throwaway tracks on iTunes people.

You can also listen to the tracks in full on last.fm or MySpace. There might even be some tracks to dowload for free if Mr. Jones happens to be in a generous mood (don't get your hopes up, most of the time he's a miserable old git).

The debut full-length LP from Muleskinner Jones. Thirteen tracks and fifty-five minutes of crunchy sci-fi swamp noir. Songs about God, Satan, firearms, liquor, aliens and Hank Snr. "One of the most idiosyncratic and colourful albums of the year" says No Ripcord. "If Tom Waits had a lobotomy he'd write songs like this" said Americana UK. Make up your own mind why don't you...

Originally intended as an EP, this kind of got too big for its boots and ended up as a mini-album. Death Row Hoedown has received praise in both Uncut and Classic Rock magazines, Losing Today magazine described it as 'An alluring and irresistible swamp-like campfire diet of murder ballads, hillbilly death chants, Hicksville voodoo blues and shadowy lit cowpunk.'

Yells From The Crypt
21 track LP (2005)
Label: Gravewax Records

A bone-juddering collection of garage, country and rock 'n' roll guaranteed to send a shiver down your spine and a chill to your heart.

Included on this collection are assorted misfits, squalid toads, freak aberrations and godless creations all gathered in one place to serve the purpose of turning the world upside down. Or maybe just to rock the hell out of it. Brace your lame ass for some of the most malignant rock and roll the world has ever seen.

Includes The Creepniks, Those Poor Bastards and many more...

Someday Coming Down
17 track LP (2004)
Label: Warning Sign Records

If, like Mr. Jones, you feel that most 'alt-country' should be filed under 'easy listening' then this deviant twang sampler is for you.

How Muleskinner Jones found his way on to this fantastic raw meat twangfest from largely Santa Cruz based artists we'll never know. But we're glad that it did, and proud to included on such a great compilation.

"An incredibly diverse range of traditional country music, tattered, torn and filtered through contemporary music ideas." - Mike Connor, Metro Santa Cruz

Yeah, It's Supposed To Sound Like That Vol II
17 track LP (2004)
Label: Colchester Recordings

The second in Colchester Recordings acclaimed series of compilation LPs features 'Come Inside, Stranger' from the 'Death Row Hoedown' LP.

Suffice to say this is a compilation quite unlike any you've ever heard.

"Their blantant disregard for marketing strategies and cliques has served Colchester Recordings well as they've found some great music..." [Indigo Flow]

Knock Back In Anger
13 track LP (2004)
Label: Knockback Records

The recently released compilation CD 'Knockback in Anger' features 'Rose Connelly' by Muleskinner Jones, as well as another 11 bands from the London and Brighton underground 'scene'.

Mr. Jones is proud to appear in such fine company as the likes of Guillotines, Mudlow, Salter Cane and K.S. and the Mystery Jet Set.
